Belarusian scientists in the field of medicine have many unique developments, produced in part thanks to information technology and artificial intelligence. Last year, the Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds developed and implemented an information analytical system for calculating the risk of diseases.

It has been 17 years since a team of doctors from the 9th Minsk City Clinical Hospital — now the Minsk Scientific and Practical Centre for Surgery, Transplantology and Haematology — led by Academician of the National Academy of Sciences Oleg Rummo (then Deputy Chief Physician for Surgery) performed the first liver transplant in Belarus.

The 29th International Medical Forum Healthcare of Belarus–2024 was held in Belarus’ capital at the end of April. An R&D and production organisation, Belarus’ National Academy of Sciences and Belarusian State Medical University have jointly come up with an unconventional capsule, with the dominance of centrifugal forces inside.

Testing of interesting projects under the state programme Knowledge-Intensive Technologies and Engineering was completed at the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences.
